Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations" is one of the first novels I ever read, and I was intrigued by the BBC mini-series adaptation in part because of Gillian Anderson playing Miss Havisham, and Harry Lloyd having a role. Part 1 focused, as does the book, on a very young Pip, and his adult self doesn't appear until quite late. Whereas an older Estelle is meant to captivate with her beauty, the production may have erred in casting Douglas Booth as the one who truly mesmerizes as Pip!
