Zachary Zatara In Zatanna #4!

In issue #4 of Zatanna writer Paul Dini gets his hands on Zatanna's cousin Zachary for the first time, and it's every bit as good as I had hoped, especially compared to the horrendous treatment Zach's been getting in Teen Titans. In this issue Zatanna captures the Royal Flush Gang in Vegas, prctices her stage act and gets to know a suitor whose ulterior motives will play out over time, before retiring to her hotel room, which is where Zach is hosting an out-of-control party, which Zatanna breaks up in her singular manner.
Though Zach's been kicking around the DCU for a couple of years now, he and his cousin have had no on-panel dialogue, though they have shared panel time in big 'event' issues of various comics. Here Zatanna and Zach have a chat about magic use.

Zatanna strangely doesn't find it a bit creepy that Zach's assistant/girlfriend wears roughly the same costume that she does. Or maybe she's just really tired by this point.

The three old ladies are actually fire demons, as Zatanna's about to find out, and perhaps Zach will lend a hand against them next issue.
