David Tennant's run as the tenth Doctor Who ended this weekend, and Matt Smith starts as the eleventh Doctor in the spring of this year! He'll be joined by a new companion played by Karen Gillan:

The series has been terrific in the past few years, and, while it was sad to see Tennant's run end (complete with some closure on previous companions), I'm looking forward to Steven Moffat's taking over the writing, and the fresh outlook!

If you're like me, you might wonder 'what do the wealthy do to ring in a new year?', and, in the case of Idle fave Colton Haynes, he was 'spotted' as they say on Gossip Girl, at one of my old haunts in Florida! Posted at Just Jared: "Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and rising actor Colton Haynes spend an afternoon together sipping cocktails and gossiping with pals at Fontainebleau on Wednesday (December 20) in Miami Beach, Fla.
'What a wild night it was in Miami,” Colton, 21, said. “Wild crazy penthouse party and REALLY tall women… I approve.'
He continued, 'I checked 80 percent of my accomplishments for 2009 off today! It works… it’s all about the power of positivity and appreciating life! Wishing everyone a happy new year… remember to write down all the things you want to accomplish this year!'"
It looks as if Colton and Chace were 'together' in the same way that I was 'together' with the guy behind me at the post office the other day, but you've got to give Jared credit for trying.

Hope that Colton's positivity pays off for him in the New Year, and wishing all good stuff for those reading Idle!

For Christmas, amongst more practical things, I received my namesake, Ken,from the new Barbie Fashionista line, which is one of the first instances of an affordable Ken with articulated joints at knee and elbow, making him more than just an accessory for Barbie to pose with! He's kind of neat.

Looking like he was manufactured by Mattel as well is model Nate Nesbitt, who did quite a few editorials and was seemingly everywhere after appearing in an Armani campaign, then was somewhat low key through the latter half of 2009.



Nate's been working consistently, and he appears on the Ralph Lauren Rugby site in the New Arrivals section, which is great to see.
