Merlin, the TV series from the BBC is into its second season and it's on tonight! NBC ran the first season during the summer, and hopefully will do the same this summer. It's a reworking of the traditional Camelot mythology, with the tweaks that Merlin comes to Camelot as a teen during a period in which magic is outlawed by King Uther, and Merlin must aid Prince Arthur in fulfilling his destiny while hiding the ways in which he does so. Lancelot passes through, Morgana is Uther's ward and frightened of her own budding abilities, and Gwen works as Morgana's maid. We even meet a kid Druid named Mordred and an evil sorceress named Nimue. Like Smallville, which also took a well-known mythology and tweaked it, for better or worse, Merlin has a go-to for advice in dealing with the menace-of-the-week in the form of an imprisoned dragon (in Smallville it's Clark's Kryptonian father, Jor-El, the disembodied voice in the Fortress). It's beautifully filmed and the actors are clearly having fun with their roles. Worth checking out if you can.

So this is model Patrick Kafka, as photographed by Joe Lally. Joe Lally also shot these:

the hair-styling of which remind me of the women who ran Moonbase on the British TV series U.F.O.:

I've posted before about how much I like the Bucky Barnes Captain America, and am enjoying the exploration of his relationship with The Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff. As Captain America Reborn races toward the inevitable return to the status quo, Bucky and Natasha are reduced to a couple of pages in issue 4:

but Natasha gets her own miniseries this month called "Black Widow: Deadly Origin", which seeks, among other things, to explain her absurdly long history in the Marvel Universe. Bucky is retconned into Natasha's history at the point where she begins to avoid aging. While I liked their brief but dramatic affair back in "Captain America", tying him into an important part of her origins makes sense as well.

It's a good start to the series, and I hope that Marvel keeps them together even after he takes on whatever new gig they give him when Steve Rogers resumes the Cap identity.
Taking on the Captain America identity in real life this Halloween, (and possibly prior?) was Real World Brooklyn participant, fitness guru, and all around nice guy Scott Herman:

He recently graced the Undergear catalog:

and gives fitness advice/demonstrations at Scott Herman Fitness.com
an example seen here:

Subscribe. It's informative AND entertaining. And Scott's easy on the eyes and relaxed on video. Besides, Marvel/Disney has been aiming toward an Avengers film since Iron Man, and they might just make Scott that franchise's Captain America, and he'll be too busy to do videos!

Colton was on Melrose Place last night (I was wrong about it being last week's episode, which was a rerun) as a client of Ella's agency. His scenes here:
