Well, much has happened in the world since I last entered a Blog!Personally, not that much has happened to me,but that is actually a good thing!
So we are preparing to take on Iraq, apparently. I still cannot quite understand what direct threat they pose to us, but I figure all the naysayers who kept asking about 9/11 "Why didn't we prevent it?" and "What did the Government know, and when did they know it?"are now getting their wish with the Government being pro-active!(Of course, these same people are being inconsistent by saying we shouldn't rush into war,and that we should not act unilaterally! Can't have it both ways,in my opinion. And asking the U.N. for permission?Unbelievable!
Of course, here in Atlanta, which looked in danger last week of being renamed Jimmy Carterville,we were getting very favorable reportage about the U.N.It amazes me that all the multiculturalists who hated Europeans up until last year have changed their tune since Europe turned anti-Bush! Once again, hard to have it both ways!(Personally,as an American who was born in Germany,I really enjoyed the Germans cautioning us about war!And perhaps they could remain silent about Israel, considering their track record with the Jews?Hmm?)
The new Fall entertainment season snuck up on me! Liking Firefly on Fox! Of course, being a fan of Joss Whedon from Angel and Buffy(both of which are good this season)I am somewhat biased! Also liking boomtown, which has an interesting storytelling style.Wanted to like Birds of Prey, but it is just not that well done!(Oracl,a great character in the comics, would never overlook the background of someone she was working with as she does with Dinah on the show! Not to mention not checking into Helena's therapist! Her specialty in the comics is providing information, after all!)Looking forard to the Two Towers, but not terribly excited about any other movies.Curious as to how Madonna and husband made such a poor choice in Swept Away! And it's odd that the short ad for a car company they did together had a similar plot;perhaps they should work out their "issues" in private from now on?
Though I live near an Interstate,I am out of range of all this sniper stuff! Got to be scary not knowing how to avoid someone like that! And,I have to admit, that it's difficult to take seriously the various CSIs on TV.where get to the bottom of any killing within a single hour!
Happy Halloween! And a Happy Birthday to my brother,Steve, the sanest man I know!
