WOW! And it is already post-Christmas! ( O.K., one day, but still...) My family is in Florida and I am missing them, but it was still a nice, peaceful, relaxing holiday. A time to reflect and all that!
Well, according to the Drudgereport, we may have the world's first human clone! I doubt that anything so big would be shrouded in secrecy, but there are those that think the government is hiding aliens still, so who knows? Perhaps Art Bell will end his radio career with a bang by getting the first interview! ( And we need to start hearing Pat Benatar's 'My Clone Sleeps Alone' as bumper music!)
Also on Drudge, apparently the Catholic Church has taken a break from pedophilia in order to denounce the potential War in Iraq! See, some good always comes from some bad! Not that I think war would be wrong in this case! If the chess game the Bush Administration, the U.N., and Hussein are playing is any indication, this may be bigger than anyone knows.I am merely a citizen and have little to no info.
Though I do think that if the Democrats and their allies in the mass media had put the same energy into fighting terrorism that they did in fighting Trent Lott, the world would be a safer place! (The same media that ignores the traitorous remarks made by Patty Murray to American school children! For shame!) Lott seems to have a smooth replacement in Bill Frist, who must have a clean track record, because the media chose to immediately ignore him!
"Firefly" is cancelled on Fox, darn it! Joss Whedon is apparntly shopping it around to other networks. Fox chose not to advertise it separately from 'John Doe', and showed what episodes it chose to air out of sequence, with HUGE gaps for baseball! Heck, I liked it and still occasionally forgot to check to see if it had returned to the schedule! Guess I'll have to be happy with CBS's all-CSI schedule! Can't wait to try out for "CSI: Atlanta"! And there is the NBC equivalent, Law & Order.I think they'll be doing "Law & Order:SUV" soon!
Two of my fave comics are ending, but are apparently being incorporated into new versions. Titans, or Teen Titans, or New Titans, will join with Young Justice at some point soon.I'm O.K. with that, especially if they stick with the original idea of apprentice heroes to the more powerful and experienced JLA. Too often the other books took detours into world-saving as if there weren't a senior group, or into soap opera, which only works if one truly cares about the characters.
Any rant at this time of year would not be complete without the mention of Time magazine's 'Persons of the Year", which this year are three dour blonde women who were 'whistleblowers' this past year.As I've mentioned to others, poor Linda Tripp was ahead of her time! Of course, there's also the fact that Time was more interested in who the target of the whistleblowing was!
Happy New Year!
